How do I provision multiple client phones with the ESET Secure Authentication mobile app using Active Directory?

Issue

  • Deploy the ESET Secure Authentication (ESA) mobile app to multiple client phones from the ADUC ESA snap-in

Solution

  1. Open Active Directory Users and Computers (ADUC). Click Start → All Programs → Active Directory Users and Computers.
     
  2. In the ADUC, expand the domain on which ESA is installed and click Users (see Figure 1-1).
     
  3. Hold CTRL on your keyboard and click to select users that you want to provision with the ESA mobile app, right-click them and select Properties from the context menu.

  1. In the Properties for Multiple Items window, click the ESET Secure Authentication tab. The users you selected will be displayed (see Figure 1-2).

Important! Users must have a valid mobile phone number in Active Directory

For provisioning to be successful, make sure that each mobile user you want to provision has a valid phone number entered in the Mobile field of the Telephones tab in Active directory. The phone number should be entered using only digits with no spaces or dashes in the format XYYY1234567, where X is the country code and YYY is the area code.

  1. Select the check boxes next to Update Enabled Token Types and Mobile Application (leave the check box next toSMS-based OTPs deselected).
     
  2. Click Send Application. Your client phones will receive a text message containing a link to the ESA mobile app download page.
