Issue

In order to migrate ESET Security Management Center (ESMC) Server from Windows Server to ESET Security Management Center Virtual Appliance (ESMC VA), you will need to back up the database from Windows Server and restore it into the ESMC Virtual Appliance.

Prerequisites:

  • ESMC Server version 7.0 or newer with database running at MySQL Server
  • ESMC Server database must use a default name “era_db” and username “root”.

Important!

The following guide is only applicable to ESET Security Management Center running a MySQL database.

Solution

  1. Click here to download the ESET Security Management Center Virtual Appliance (ESMC VA) for your particular hypervisor type. Deploy the ESMC VA into your virtual environment, for further information regarding this process, review the VA Deployment support pageDo not configure the ESMC VA yet. After a successful deployment, check the IP address of the new ESMC Virtual Appliance in the main screen.

  2. On your existing Windows ESMC Server, create a new policy to set a new ESMC Server IP address and assign the policy to all client computers. Click AdminPoliciesNew Policy.
