By default, ESET NOD32 Antivirus 4 Business Edition for Mac OS X will automatically attempt to download virus signature updates several times per day. If you use a dial-up Internet connection, you may receive continuous error messages regarding failed virus signature updates. Your computer may also automatically attempt to connect to the Internet. To prevent this, you can disable the Regular automatic update task by using the Scheduler feature:
- Open the main program window by clicking the ESET icon on the menu bar and selecting Open ESET NOD32 Antivirus or by clicking Finder → Applications → ESET NOD32 Antivirus 4.
- Click the icon in the lower-left corner to Activate advanced mode.
- Click Tools → Scheduler and deselect the Regular automatic update option.
This will force your ESET product to download virus signature updates only when a dial-up connection has been established, rather than trying to connect once every hour.
