Using ESET Security for Linux/FreeBSD version 3.x, you can create a Mirror folder containing update files which can be accessed by Windows workstations running ESET NOD32 Antivirus or ESET Smart Security. Please follow the steps below:
Using a text editor, open the /etc/esets/esets.cfg configuration file. Set the av_mirror_enabled option to "yes".
# av_mirror_enabled = yes/no # Enables ESETS mirror. av_mirror_enabled = yes
Specify the path of the Mirror folder:
# av_mirror_dir = "directory" # Path to Mirror directory av_mirror_dir = "/var/lib/esets/mirror"
Specify the Program Component Update modules (ESET NOD32 Antivirus/ESET Smart Security) which will be updated by the Mirror.
# av_mirror_pcu = "mod1:mod2:..." # List of ESET antivirus Program Component Update modules # to be mirrored from ESET server. av_mirror_pcu = "ESS_WINNT32_1033:ESS_WINNT64_1033:EAV_..."
ESS_WINNT32_1033:ESS_WINNT64_1033 are Program Component Update modules for the English version of ESET Smart Security (32 and 64-bit). Additional information can be found in the ESET File Security manual.
The Mirror folder and all other configuration settings for ESET Security for Linux can also be configured using the ESET File Security Web interface.
A screenshot from the Web interface is shown below:
The Mirror can be updated manually using the esets_update command:
/usr/sbin/esets_update -u username -p password --mirror-dir /var/lib/esets/mirror \ --mirror-pcu ESS_WINNT32_1033:ESS_WINNT64_1033:EAV_WINNT32_1033:EAV_... --mirror
Additional information on the esets_update command can be found in the man page by typing:
