If you receive the notification Module update failed, do not roll back or reinstall.
ESET is distributing a server-side fix which will be applied to your ESET Endpoint product(s) via regular updates. We recommend that you wait to deactivate seats or reinstall the product, as these steps may not resolve the issue.
You can learn more about this issue on the ESET user forum.
The steps below will resolve some, but not all, instances of this issue:
- Deactivate the ESET license seat for the affected computer(s) using one of the following methods:
To determine your Seat name in ESET Endpoint Security / ESET Endpoint Antivirus, from the main program window navigate to Help and Support → Details for Customer Care.
- Reactivate your ESET Endpoint product manually from the affected computer or using ESET Remote Administrator.
When upgrading multiple computers via ESET Remote Administrator, the problem may occur on your network. Delay upgrading ESET Endpoint product on remaining computers until a permanent fix by ESET is provided.
If the error is not resolved after a computer restart (for example, a red warning screen or a blank main product window is displayed), uninstall and reinstall your product to resolve this issue
If you are unable to reinstall using the standard method and/or reactivate after seat deactivation:
- Uninstall your ESET Endpoint manually using the ESET uninstaller tool.
- Install ESET on the affected computer again or deploy again using ESET Remote Administrator.
