Issue
- Create a new configuration (for use via ESET Remote Administrator) using existing firewall rules from clients
Solution
The Firewall Rules Merge Wizard allows you to quickly create a new firewall rules configuration based on rules from multiple client workstations. For example, after installing ESET Endpoint Security on several workstations, you can set the firewall filtering mode for all clients to interactive mode for a short period of time to create a basic set of rules and then combine the rules from all client workstations to create a configuration file that you can use as the basis of your default policy.
Run the Firewall Rules Wizard
- Open the ESET Remote Administrator Console (ERAC) by clicking Start → All Programs → ESET → ESET Remote Administrator Console → ESET Remote Administrator Console, or by double-clicking the ERAC icon on your Desktop.
- Click Tools → Firewall Rules Merge Wizard.

- Select the check box next to each rule that you want to include in your new configuration (in this example there is only one unique rule on the client, Allow FTP; this will differ depending on your client's firewall configuration) and click Save As.

- Specify where you want to save your new configuration file (in this example we save to Desktop), enter a name for the file and then click Save.
