Issue

  • Create a policy to have client computers connect to the ESET Remote Administrator Proxy (ERA Proxy)

Solution

Prerequisites

Define a policy for clients to connect to ERA Proxy

Permissions changes in ESET Remote administrator 6.5 and later

Before proceeding, please note important changes to user access rights and permissions in the latest versions of ESET Remote Administrator.

A user must have the following permissions for their home group:

Functionality Read Use Write
Policies
Groups & Computers

Once these permissions are in place, follow the steps below.

Because communication between the ERA Server and client computers is managed by the ERA Agent, the best way to instruct all clients to connect to the ERA Server through the ERA Proxy is by using a policy. To do so, follow the steps below:

  1. Open ESET Remote Administrator Web Console (ERA Web Console) in your web browser and log in.

  2. Click Admin  → Policies → New policy
