How do I update the Username and Password for multiple client workstations at the same time? (5.x)

Issue

  • Update ESET credentials for a group of client workstations from the ESET Remote Administrator Console (ERAC)

 

A new version has been released

Version 6 of ESET Remote Administrator (ERA) and ESET business products were released in North America December 11th, 2014, and globally February 25th, 2015. This article applies to version 5.x and earlier ESET business products. For information about what's new in the latest version and how to upgrade, see the following article:

 

Solution

Using Policy Manager (recommended):

  1. Open the ESET Remote Administrator Console by clicking Start → All Programs → ESET → ESET Remote Administrator Console → ESET Remote Administrator Console.
     
  2. Click Tools → ESET Policy Manager. In the Policy Manager window select your default policy and click Edit.

  3. Expand Windows desktop v5 → Update → Profile → Settings.
     
  4. Select Username and enter the updated username into the Value field.

  5. Select Password, click Set Password and enter your password into the fields provided. Click OK when you are finished.

  6. Click Console → Yes to save your changes. Click OK to exit Policy Manager.

 

Using a Configuration task (alternative method):

  1. Open the ESET Remote Administrator Console (ERAC) by double-clicking the ERAC icon on your Desktop or by clicking Start → All Programs → ESET → ESET Remote Administrator Console → ESET Remote Administrator Console.
     
  2. In the Clients pane, press and hold the Ctrl key and then click each client for which you want to update the Username and Password (if you want to update the credentials for all client workstations, right-click and select Select All from the context menu).
     
  3. Right-click a selected client workstation and select New Task → Configuration Task.

  4. Click Create.

  5. Expand Windows desktop v5 → Update → Profile → Settings (see Figure 1-3). 
     
  6. Select Username and enter the updated username into the Value field.

  7. Select Password, click Set Password and enter your password into the fields provided. Click OK when you are finished.

  8. Click Console to save your changes.
     
  9. Click Next, clik Next again in the Select Clients window and then click Finish. The client workstations that you selected for this task will automatically inherit it the next time they check in to ESET Remote Administrator.
