Issue
- Migrate your policy settings for client workstations into a new policy for 5.x clients
Solution
- Open the ESET Remote Administrator Console (ERAC) by clicking Start → All Programs→ ESET → ESET Remote Administrator Console → ESET Remote Administrator Console.
- Click Tools → Policy Manager.
- Click Policy Migration Wizard.

- Select the check box(es) next to the policy or policies that you want to migrate settings from and click Next.

- Select one of the following policy migration methods and then click Next:
- Replace existing Endpoint policy and use only source settings: All Windows product line v3 and v4 policy settings will be preserved. Windows desktop v5 policy settings that do not conflict with existing Windows product line v3 and v4 settings will use default values.
- Merge policies and do not replace conflicting Endpoint settings: Existing and migrated policies will be merged. Existing Windows desktop v5 policy settings will not be replaced by settings from the Windows product line v3 and v4 policy.
- Merge policies and replace conflicting Endpoint settings: Existing and migrated policies will be merged. Existing Windows desktop v5 policy settings will be replaced by settings from the Windows product line v3 and v4 policy where applicable.
- Merge policies and do not replace conflicting Endpoint settings: Existing and migrated policies will be merged. Existing Windows desktop v5 policy settings will not be replaced by settings from the Windows product line v3 and v4 policy.

- Click Finish when migration is complete.
- When migration is complete, select the policy for which you just migrated settings and click View merged to view only the settings that were affected by migration.
