Release announcement: ESET LiveGuard - Improved compatibility with detection types and levels

Authors list

I want to inform you that Improved compatibility with detection types and levels for ESET LiveGuard was released for our customers.

Until now, Real-time scanning offered multiple detection types: malware, potentially unwanted applications, suspicious applications, and potentially unsafe applications in combination with various detection levels: aggressive, balanced, cautious, and disabled.
If a sample is not detected locally, it may be sent to ESET LiveGuard for deeper analysis. In previous versions, ESET LiveGuard could classify the detection type of the sample and provide information about categories such as Clean, Suspicious, Highly Suspicious, or Malicious threshold but could not identify detection levels and levels that are part of real-time scanning.

The new ESET LiveGuard brings unified control of detection types and levels based on local endpoint settings. For example, if PUAs is disabled on the endpoint and ESET LiveGuard classifies the detection type as PUA, it is not reflected on the endpoint due to local endpoint settings. The same applies to detection levels. For example, if PUA is enabled on the endpoint with the balanced detection level, detections classified by LiveGuard as aggressive will not be reflected on the endpoint.

We've released an update for the Windows products and ESET Cloud Office Security. Compatibility for Linux will be available later and will require an application update.
