Issue
- Allow or prevent certain users from accessing important settings in ESET NOD32 Antivirus Business Edition for Mac OS X and ESET NOD32 Antivirus Business Edition for Linux Desktop
Solution
You can set Privileged users during installation, add them later in the program settings, or define them from the ESET Remote Administrator Configuration Editor (ERAC) starting with version 4.0.138. To add Privileged users using ERAC version 5.0.511 and later, follow the steps below:
- Open the ESET Remote Administrator Console (ERAC) by clicking Start → All Programs → ESET → ESET Remote Administrator Console → ESET Remote Administrator Console.
- Click Tools → Policy Manager.
- Select the policy you want to modify and click Edit Policy.

- Expand Unix desktop v4 → ESET Daemon → Settings → Privileges and click Privileged users (see Figure 1-2).
- Add privileged users to the Value text field by entering the account names for each client workstation. Delimit multiple client workstations with a colon.

- Click Console → Yes to save your changes.
- In the Policy Manager window, click OK to return to the main program window.
Add a privileged user on an individual client workstation
- Open ESET NOD32 Antivirus Business Edition for Mac OS X. How do I open the main program window?
- Click the icon in the lower-left corner of the main program window to Activate advanced mode. Click Setup from the main menu and then click Enter entire advanced setup or Enter application preferences.
- Click User → Privileges and then select the users you would like to add from the Users list on the left. Click Add to add them to the Privileged Users list on the right. Click OK to return to the main program window.
